Bar Sen is an intimate Laotian noodle and cocktail bar nestled in Oklahoma City’s vibrant Plaza District.

Bar Sen offers Chef Jeff’s take on the comfort food of his childhood. It’s an extension of Ma Der Lao Kitchen, with a mission to continue championing Lao cuisine by educating it’s diners about another realm outside of sticky rice.

The menu centers on house-made, naturally gluten-free rice noodles – Khao Piek Sen (Lao Chicken Noodle Soup). It’s chef’s favorite childhood dish and it would be his chosen last meal. The menu offers other noodle varieties and small sharable plates.

Every culture has some form of chicken noodle soup. This one though, is every Laotian’s favorite meal. It warms and heals you on any given day. When it’s cold, when you’re sick, when you’re sad, when it’s blistering hot, when you’re hungover, just whenever. It’s a magically, powerful bowl of the very familiar chicken noodle soup.
